Russia Sanctions Compliance
Russia is subject to the most comprehensive US and allied sanctions regime currently in effect. Since February 2022, OFAC has designated hundreds of Russian individuals and entities, BIS has imposed sweeping export controls covering electronics, semiconductors, and dual-use goods, and the EU has enacted fourteen successive sanctions packages. Virtually all exports of controlled technology to Russia require a license — and licenses are rarely granted. For US exporters, the primary ongoing obligation is screening Russian counterparties, identifying transshipment routes through third countries, and documenting red flag reviews for every transaction touching Russian-connected entities.
