Russia Sanctions & Trade Compliance
Before 2022, Russia trade had complexity but it was manageable. That's over. OFAC designated hundreds of individuals and entities. BIS imposed sweeping controls on electronics, semiconductors, and dual-use goods. The EU passed fourteen sanctions packages. Licenses for controlled technology exports are almost never granted.
What fills the compliance calendar now is transshipment. Goods routed through Turkey, UAE, Kazakhstan, and other intermediary countries to reach Russian end users — that's the pattern regulators are watching. Designations update weekly. If your last Russia screening was a month ago, it's already stale.
