United States Trade Compliance
UFLPA is where US import compliance got hard. The rebuttable presumption for goods tied to Xinjiang or listed entities means you need transactional documentation across multiple supply chain tiers — not supplier self-certifications, actual documentation. CBP has detained shipments from companies that thought their paperwork was solid.
Beyond forced labor, the basics still apply: HTS classification, marking rules, bond requirements. But CBP enforcement has become more aggressive, not less. If you're a mid-size importer, match your screening cadence to entity-list updates and keep bills of materials with traceable origins for priority sectors. Routing through a third country doesn't make the exposure go away.
