Compliance Training

Trade compliance training is a BIS and OFAC program requirement, not a nice-to-have. Both agencies ask about training in audits and consider its absence an aggravating factor in enforcement. Effective training goes beyond annual awareness sessions: export managers need classification methodology, screening hit resolution procedures, and license exception conditions. Finance teams need to recognize payment structures that suggest sanctions evasion. Logistics coordinators need to know which shipment parameters trigger EEI filing requirements. The training record matters as much as the training itself — BIS wants to see who was trained, when, on what, and whether the content covered their job function. We cover curriculum design by role, training frequency standards, and documentation formats that satisfy both BIS and OFAC program expectations.
