Regulatory Compliance Training
BIS and OFAC both treat employee training as a core element of a compliance program — and both ask about it in audits. The question isn't whether training happened but whether it covered the right topics, reached the right people, and left a record. A one-hour annual webinar for the whole company doesn't satisfy the standard for an export manager who makes daily classification and screening decisions. Effective training is role-specific: the logistics coordinator needs to know how to read a screening hit; the sales team needs to know which customer questions are red flags; senior management needs to understand the penalty exposure. We cover training curriculum design by role, documentation requirements, and how OFAC and BIS evaluate training programs in voluntary self-disclosure and enforcement contexts.
