UK Export Compliance
Since Brexit, the United Kingdom operates its own export control and sanctions regime independent of the EU. The Export Control Joint Unit issues UK strategic export licenses, and the Office of Financial Sanctions Implementation enforces UK sanctions lists that increasingly diverge from both OFAC and EU designations. US exporters selling into the UK must screen against the UK Consolidated List of Financial Sanctions Targets separately from EU and OFAC lists. For dual-use and military goods, UK Open General Export Licences may apply, but controlled technology exports require individual assessment. Post-Brexit customs procedures also add documentation requirements that did not exist under EU membership.
