Brazil Tariffs

Brazil's import tariff structure runs through SISCOMEX, the federal trade system, with rates set under the MERCOSUR Common External Tariff. Most industrial goods face rates between 12% and 20%, with electronics running higher in some categories. Brazil also imposes IPI (industrialized products tax), PIS/COFINS import levies, and ICMS at the state level — the combined tax burden on imported goods frequently exceeds 50% of customs value. US exporters often underestimate total landed cost because they focus on the tariff alone. We cover Brazil's complete import duty structure, SISCOMEX registration requirements, RADAR licensing thresholds, and the anti-dumping measures that affect US chemical and steel exports.
