Mexico Tariffs

Mexico and the US share the world's largest bilateral trade relationship — roughly $800 billion in goods annually — but USMCA preference isn't automatic. Exporters who skip the certificate of origin step or miscalculate regional value content are getting reclassified at the border and paying MFN rates instead. For goods outside USMCA coverage, tariffs range from 0% to 35% depending on product category. We cover the specific HS chapters where Mexican customs has increased scrutiny, IMMEX program requirements for manufacturers, and how Section 232 steel and aluminum duties interact with USMCA origin claims.
