Tariff Calculator: Import Duty Guides & Tools
Calculating landed cost requires more than the duty rate. For a US importer, the total includes: the ad valorem tariff on customs value, any Section 301 or Section 232 additional duties, Harbor Maintenance Fee (0.125% of cargo value), Merchandise Processing Fee (0.3464%, capped at $575 per entry), and — for certain goods — antidumping or countervailing duty deposits. For goods from China in 2025, total additional duties can reach 145% before MPF and HMF. Getting this wrong at the quotation stage means absorbing a margin hit at entry. We walk through the full landed cost calculation for common import scenarios, including how to handle multiple applicable duty layers on a single HTS heading.
