James Calloway

International Trade Attorney

James spent about ten years doing trade law. Half of that at a D.C. firm where he filed voluntary self-disclosures he'd rather not talk about, half in-house at a defense contractor where the compliance budget was bigger than most of the problems it was meant to solve. He got tired of watching mid-size companies get the same OFAC guidance recycled from enterprise playbooks that don't apply to them. That's most of what he writes about here — the gap between what the regulation says and what a 50-person company can actually do about it. Georgetown J.D., GW LL.M. in International Trade.
